My Story of a Renovation Home

Thinking back to when we purchased our charming Victorian cottage, we decided to use suffolk latches to guarantee the house was keeping in form with its past. The house is over 160 years old, so we were enthusiastic to research this age and use as many products as possible around the property so it would look simply classical. When I looked around the cottage I saw there were lots of ways to make it seem like a Victorian house. I also spent a lot of time pondering about who had built the home and their life at the time.

There was also a garage attached, as well as a stable and a barn, so we bought butterfly hinges to refurbish the exterior and interior doors. We chose authentic black ironmongery products with a historic beeswax finish. We were very taken aback at the small-town interest in our plans including the neighbors who visited offering their suggestions and ideas. To this day; we remain so active about preserving the ancient character features and respecting the heritage of our country cottage.
